‹ Day 6

Canyon country

2-min read

Western Georgia’s soft limestone is carved into a whole family of canyons. At Okatse you walk a suspended metal path bolted along the cliff face, ending on a viewing platform hung out over a fifty-metre drop.

Martvili canyon is the gentler sibling: milky turquoise water between mossy walls, small waterfalls, and a short boat ride through the gorge — once the private bathing spot of the Dadiani princes of Samegrelo.

🎒 You may get lightly splashed on the Martvili boat — phones in something waterproof, and shoes with grip for the wet stone steps.
